The Managing Counsel is responsible for the delivery and coordination of outstanding transactional support services, advising on technology and outsourcing deals and commercial disputes for UnitedLex’s clients. This key position will report either to the GDC Director and/ or Legal Director in a given Region. The initial client is DXC Technology, a major multinational technology/outsourcing company formed from the merger of CSC and HPE Enterprise Services. United Lex provides a broad range of legal and professional services to its customers. Its success is based on a foundation of creative, talented individuals working as a team in a collaborative environment. The remit is to enhance existing transactional legal support with the innovative use of operational tools, processes, and technology. Individuals for this role are required to be dynamic, experienced, and technically excellent lawyers, with particular strengths in team management, teamwork, business risk-assessment, and creative problem solving both in commercial and operational matters. They must also have the interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with customers. Candidates should have the potential for leadership in service improvement and growth, and as senior contributors, they should embrace and look for opportunities to train and develop the members of the team.

Please note that this is not a remote opportunity. We are looking for a professional who will have exposure in end to end IT Contract Management & Government run PSU's or Corporations.

Desired candidate profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Law.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in a global corporation’s legal department, or contract management department, or within an elite law firm
  • Team/People Management experience preferred
  • Extensive commercial negotiations experience required, including multinational and high-value deals, preferably in the IT services industry
  • Ability to provide strategic business advice and legal counsel regarding specific deals and overall business models
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams
  • Experience mentoring and managing team members, including senior lawyers
  • Detail-oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills
  • Strong understanding of core legal knowledge and ability to advise in the technical areas relevant to your client and its industry sectors (e.g. commercial contracts, transaction management, disputes, sector-specific regulation)
  • Understanding of contracting best practices and industry trends, with excitement for crafting new solutions and implementing innovative delivery models
  • Extensive experience in advice and legal document drafting, including adherence to deadlines and managing conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to work highly collaboratively within an onsite and virtual global team and independently, as appropriate.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, MS Outlook, Excel, and related software programs and preferred experience with contract management or case management software.
  • Proficient in technology and tools used by the firm and with the client
  • Understanding of new legal services delivery model and passion for industry transformation
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
