Our Former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam on nine July 2015 launched this abhiyan named “Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan” (RAA) in the capital . Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan can target students within the cohort of six - eighteen years and successively the execution of RAA can span across MHRD’s schematic interventions of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan within the Department of school Education & acquirement and programmes and schemes of Department of upper Education to encourage Science, arithmetic & Technology.

Aim of Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan 

This abhiyan aims at inculcating a spirit of inquiry, creativeness and love for Science and arithmetic in school youngsters. whereas emphasising the importance of the schools and room transactions, the RAA aims to leverage the potential for science, arithmetic and technology learning in non-classroom settings. on the far side the four walls of an area , opportunities for science, arithmetic and technology learning abound. consequently, the ‘Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan (RAA)” is planned to provide wholesome and nurturing support to and a platform for colleges during a twin track approach to make Science, arithmetic and Technology exciting to youngsters and encourage them to have a permanent interest each within room and outdoors room activities.

Major interventions below Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan

1. General enhancements within the establishment

  • Teacher Preparation for Science, arithmetic and Technology: Pre-Service and In-Service
  • Use of Technology in Science and arithmetic teaching 
  • Development of resource materials
  • Strengthening teacher support establishments and within the utilization of technology
  • Effective room dealings : teaching – learning. 
  • Assessment style for Science and arithmetic for school kids
  • Enlisting of Science and arithmetic lecturers.
  • Strengthening college Science Laboratories and arithmetic Laboratories
  • Provision of teaching-learning equipment and supplementary books/materials to strengthen Science and arithmetic dealings in classrooms.

2. Initiatives to encourage Science, arithmetic through alternative ways

  • College Mentoring for Science & arithmetic teaching by pedagogy establishments. 
  • Teacher Circles on Science, arithmetic and Technology
  • Science/Mathematics Clubs for kids
  • Expand the reach of programmes of the Ministry of Science and Technology to push science learning.
  • Participation of students in Inter-school, State/National Maths and Science Competitions/ Olympiads etc.
  • Unionised visits to Science Museums and Science fairs and arithmetic Melas.
  • Folks and community sensitisation.

Objective of Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan 

  • The Rashtriya Aavishkar Abhiyan might be a convergent framework across college Education and better Education.
  • It seeks to make curiosity, excitement and spirit of innovation and exploration amongst college youngsters by encouraging pedagogy establishments to become Mentoring establishments and assist secondary and elementary colleges within the study of Science and arithmetic.
  • The Abhiyan encourages youngsters of the cohort from 6-18 years in learning Science, arithmetic and Technology through observation, experimentation, reasoning drawing, model building, etc. each through within and outdoors room activities and processes.
  • To encourage and nurture colleges to be incubators of Innovation.
